Tycho Brahe
Born 1546 in Knutstorp, skane, Denmark. when he was born his original name was Tyge. It changed to Tycho as a Latinised name that he adopted when he was 15. Tycho's real parents were Beate Bill and Otte Brahe. Oddly enough, Tycho was a twin but his twin brother died not long after arriving into the world. Tycho was the oldest boy in the family but wasn't the eldest kid in the house hold. He had an older sister. The family must of been a queer one because the events that took place would be called exactly that. Tycho had a "adventure" in his young toddler years. When he was just 2 years of age, he was kidnapped by his fathers brother and wife, Jorgen Brahe and Inger Oxe. This couple was currently child-free and acted as a mother to Tycho. The queer thing was that Tycho's real parents never tried to get him back. Jorgen Brahe controlled Tostrup Castle, and that was where Tycho lived from the time he was kidnapped until he was 6 years of age. During this time though, he did travel. Lots of times his parents would be going away and he went with one of them. Around the age of six, his new father or uncle recieved a promotion to control Vordingborg Castle in 1552. So obviously Tycho moved with them. He stayed there and got an education of Latin which he wouldn't of gotten if he was with his real father because his real father considered learning Latin to be a foolish waist of time. He continued through school until he reached the age of twelve and began his studies for university. At the date of April 19, 1559 Tycho began what we would call college studies at the University of Copenhagen. From influence from his uncle, Tycho studied law along with other studies. The subject that really caught his eye was astronomy. (Tyco was one of the many people who beleived that the universe revolved around earth.) His Uncle and Aunt wanted Tycho to gain experience abroad so Tycho went to the University of Leipzig along with a partner. While at Leipzig astronomy wasn't officially in his studies but he brought his books with him anyway. THe eclipse on August 21, 1560 and the fact that, that date had bee anticipated facinated him so much that he began to make his own studies of astronomy along with assistance from his professors. After Leipzig, Brahe journeyed home and shortly after only to find htat is uncle had given his life for the king. The year 1566 brought many travels for Tycho. He went to many universities. There was a duel involving Tycho and he lost a part of his nose. He had an artificial nose made of silver and gold made. After hearing about how his father was not in the best condition, he quickly hurried home nursing his father. His father died a year later and Tyge began working on constructing a alchemy laboratory there because of his new big interest. The year 1572 brought Kirsten Jorgendatter who was a girl from his home town of Knudstrup. They could not marry legally so she lived with Tycho as a common law wife. November 11, 1572 Tycho saw a new star in a constellation and it turned out to be a supernova. He was not the first to see it but the star adapted the name of Tycho's supernova. That brought Tyge back to the study of astronomy. Starting on the date Spetember 1574, Tycho lectured the topic of astronomy at the University of Copenhagen but quit doing that during the next spring when he got an annual income from his father's estate. He went on another trip abroad making his first stop visiting Kassel. Tycho ended up having eight children. Tyge moved around a lot and finally went to Copenhagen attempting to get support for his studies. There things went the exact opposite of pleasant and he moved him and his family too. Tycho started makeing observations again in Prague. He get support fom Rudolph for Kepler and him to compile a set of astronomical tables based on Tge's 38 years of recordings. They would be called the Rudolphine Tables as a dedication to their sponsor. Sadly, Tyge Brahe died eleven days after dining at the palace of Peter Vok Ursinus Rozemberk as a result of adhering to the etiquette of the day and refusing to leave the dinner table before his host.
